3 S’s of the Kingdom – Stewardship

Scripture: Matthew 25:14-30

Text: Luke 19:12

Opening: Are you living based on your limited perspective or living based on Truth? Do you live based on a Commandment To Obey or a Truth To Believe???

Your stewardship of your time, talent and treasure will be in direct portion to your BELIEF IN TRUTH. If you see and believe God as a Loving Father you will honor Him with your Time, Talent and Treasure. If you have a fearful, distorted, twisted image of God you will be fearful of the consequences and, because of fear, you will bury, hide and never use what you have been given!

If we see our Father as a John 3:16 Father who so loved the world that He gave His ONLY begotten Son that whosoever will might be saved (Redeemed- Adopted into His Family) and that He has a place prepared for us in eternity, that truth of our Father will change how we use our time, talent and treasure.

In this passage of scripture, we see several principles:

1) King and Kingdom (Luke 19:11-12): Jesus spoke in a parable concerning the Kingdom. Take note, the people missed the parable because they had their focus on the wrong kingdom.

Where is your focus today?

C. S. Lewis said, “If you read history, you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were just those who thought the most of the next. The apostles themselves, who set on foot the Roman Empire, the great men who built up the Middles Ages, the English Evangelicals who abolished the slave trade, all left their mark on earth precisely because their minds were occupied with Heaven. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they become so ineffective in this“.

We Have a KING if we have been born again into His KINGDOM!!! REDEEMED. ADOPTED. CHOSEN. APPOINTED. SON. SERVANT. STEWARD. KINGDOM PRINCIPLES NOT CHURCH OR DENOMINATIONAL THEOLOGY!!!!

AS KING HE IS OUR MASTER NOT OURSELVES! HE PAID A GREAT PRICE FOR US! HIS LIFE.

2) The King gave:

a) They all got the same amount of Time. The question is never TIME but the PRIORITY we put on time. Do you waste it or use it?

b) They got different Talents (Money), some 5, some 2, some 1.

They all got rewarded based upon how they used it, not on what they had been given.

c). Gifts (Treasures): As born again believers we have also been given Gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-13)

Again, we get hung up on Church Theology and Tradition and we miss Kingdom Principles. Paul said “I Do not want you to be ignorant” (v. 1)

Are you in fellowship with the Holy Spirit on your gift or gifts?

3) The King is coming back (Acts 1:9-11; 2 Peter 3:1-8):

CLOSING: Are you living based on your perspective or Truth? Truth has a foundation which is Jesus Christ.

What are you building on your foundation? (1 Corinthians 3:5 – 4:1-5)

It is His Kingdom and He is the King and is coming again!
